The only way to get to Ocracoke Island is by boat. There are a number of Ferries that travel between Ocracoke and Swan Quarter, Cedar Island, and Hatteras Island. Here are some pictures of those, as well as of the Miss Ocracoke, which is a commercial fishing and sightseeing vessel. We ventured on the Miss Ocracoke out into the ocean and found a pod of dolphins, and then Captain Steve took us to Shell Castle Island and told us stories of the island.

Above and below: This is the Chicamacomico at the ferry terminal on the north end of Ocracoke Island.
This is the Cedar Island, the ferry I took to Ocracoke from Cedar Island. And, being an ECU grad, is obviously my favorite!
